Oven Baked Bacon

In this post you’ll find out how to prepare Oven Baked Bacon.

Do you ever bake your bacon in the oven? It’s a perfect method, especially if you’re cooking for a crowd. Baking the bacon also gives you time to work on other things while it cooks and saves you a little clean up work.

Here’s what you need:

  • Thick Sliced Bacon
  • Sheet Pan
  • Aluminum Foil
  • Baking Rack or Cooling Rack

How to Cook Bacon in the Oven

I typically use thick cut bacon when serving for breakfast. I use thinner cut slices when making items that are wrapped in bacon. Whatever your choice of thin or thick sliced, baking it will work.

Preheat your oven to 400 ℉.

Line a sheet pan with aluminum foil. Add a baking rack or cooling rack and arrange bacon slices on the rack.

Easy Oven Bacon Recipe

Place the tray of bacon in the oven and bake until desired crispiness. For the thicker slices this will generally take between 25-30 minutes. I like bacon on the crispy side.

When the bacon reaches the desired level of crispy you enjoy, remove it from the oven. Allow to cook 5 minutes and serve.

The cooked bacon can be transferred to a platter lined with paper towels to drain any excess fat if needed.

See what I mean about being able to work on other stuff? Enjoy your coffee, make the toast, whip up some muffins…..well you get the idea.
